S.T.A.N.D. - Sisters Taking Actions and Nurturing Decision-makers - is an initiative of the Public Policy and Advocacy and Leadership Development Committees of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Central Mississippi Chapter, Incorporated under the leadership directives of Corinne W. Anderson, Public Policy & Advocacy Chair and Mary Katherine Brown, as Vice Chair. NCBW CMS Chapter Representatives for this inaugural program initiative were Belinda Arnold Fields, NCBW CMS Chapter President and Sharolyn Smith, 1st Vice President of Programs. This idea was birthed as a coalition of organizations and pioneered in April, 2013 as a collaboration with twenty other organizations invited and attending a planning meeting hosted by NCBW Central Mississippi (NCBW CMS) Chapter, American Association of University Women (AAUW), Jackson branch and Women for Progress, Inc. (WFP).
